Buried in Time
Young Adult Historical Fiction Novel
Getting into a coffin was unnerving, emerging from one in a different century was appalling! A silly Halloween prank ensnares three teens and propels them from 1964 in small town Melrose, Florida, through a portal into 1884 pioneer rural Florida. An emotional cry for help from a Seminole Indian to rescue his daughter from kidnappers captures their teenage hearts and leads them through encounters with sinking steamboats, train wrecks, hostile Seminoles, plume hunters, a Cajun witch woman, Florida cowboys, and hungry alligators. Love blossoms but can it survive between two teens from different centuries?
The skunk ape exists! But his territory is shrinking with the constant encroachment of humans which disrupts the creature's normal life cycles. They are all but extinct in the present day and unable to adapt to the changing environment--except for one. He lives at the fringes of human society, seeking a different path to survival. Will his notoriety doom him, or will he create a bond with a certain lawman that will ultimately save his life?
The Last Skunk Ape: Evidence is loosely based upon real events in north Florida. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.
